Product Features All items are specifically intended & designed for
use in wastewater, runoff, and lake water applications to supply oxygen and to
remove BOD, COD, SS. The range of pressurized water discharge per unit is
1500 to 17000 Gallons per hour. In this particular project, 6 units of Microgen
model Flex-200 are to operate at a rotation speed of 600 RPM, producing a total
flow of 1140 GPM with all units operating in parallel. Air or injected
gas comprises 9% of the volume of the pressurized water discharge. Air/gas bubble
diameters entrained in the pressurized water discharge range from 4 to 30 with
an mean diameter of 14. Mean bubble ascent velocity is 0.005 ft/sec, which results
in a bubble SRT in 7 ft water depth of over 20 minutes. 1) Static pump
The static pump is manufactured with a cast iron casing, two- pressure vanes,
a Geneva cam & valve, and an oil chamber. The minimum suction pressure is 29 PSI
(65 feet). The valves are controlled by a Geneva Mechanism. The pump discharges
at a minimum pressure of 200 PSIG. The static pump runs continuously & without
vibration, and is powered by an electric motor (motor is Explosion Proof when
Oxygen is injected rather than air. Pure oxygen systems also require the use of
Castrol-Brayco Oxygen Compatible Non Flammable lubrication oil. 2) Oxygen
or Air Intake & Oxygen Tank Enclosure The oxygen/air intake enclosure
provided on Trailer #2 will be vented to prevent the accumulation of gas.
The operator is given the option to operate the system using pure oxygen or ambient
air. The maximum oxygen transfer capacity using ambient air is 323 lbs/day. Maximum
oxygen transfer capacity into runoff or lake water using pure oxygen is 1541 lbs/day.
Complete system HP requirement is (7.5 HP/Microgen *6 units) + (15 HP/Suction
Pump * 1 unit) = 60 HP. Henceforth with Pure Oxygen 1.07 lb O2/hp-hr, and with
Ambient Air 0.22 lb O2/hp-hr. Venturis or fine bubble diffusers which
diffuse pure oxygen or air in much larger bubble sizes of 1 to 3 mm produce significantly
higher lbO2/hp-hr rates. However this advantageous transfer is achieved at the
expense of significantly higher pump horsepowers. Such systems offer significantly
lower alpha factors and longer water retention times than Microgen. 3)Tube
Generator The generating tube is manufactured of SS304 material with multi-pressure
nozzles. The S-tube includes a check valve, pressure equalization valve, and self-intake
protection, and is of a clog-free design.
The pressure equalization valve
ensures even pressure inside of generating tube to within 3 PSIG while water is
discharging.
The inlet check valve is design based on a Bernoulli effect
with an air inflow control valve.
Return air pipes are be made of SS304
material. All joints are flexible. 4) Common Base The common base
for Microgen S-tube, motor and local panel is channel iron. Welding stress is
removed before assembly. 5) Pressure Relief Valve A pressure relief
valve is installed at the termination of the S-tube generator. 6) Motor
& Controls Motors on Trailer #2 which are proximity to oxygen storage
and piping are Explosion Proof Class 1 Group D. Controls are provided with NEMA
7/4 enclosures. The suction pump motor to be TEFC. 7) Control Panel
Control panel to be made of machine cast aluminum. All electrical wire and
end terminals to be color coded. All electrical components will be to OSHA/ UL
standards. System will start with one start switch, and is to be controlled by
programmable logic controller. An emergency Stop button to be provided. 8)
Generator The generator shall supply sufficient power to operate all electrical
components including as pumps and control panels as required. The generator fuel
tank will have a capacity of min. 300 gallons, which is sufficient to run the
generator for 24 hours. 9) Moving Trailer The trailers are designed
to be movable by a motor vehicle with a hook connection mechanism. The trailers
will both have a roof and four walls. Total trailer gross weight will be within
the 18,000 lbs. weight and 25 ft length limits. 10) Fuel Tank The
fuel tank is proposed to be 3 diameter x 6 high, and constructed of carbon steel,
± wll all thickness, with inlet and discharge connections and a pressure relief
valve provided. 11) Water Tank The water storage tank is to be
10 length x 6wide x 6deep, constructed of carbon steel with 3/16± wall thickness,
and having a maximum capacity of 2200 gallons. Tank to be provided with inlet
and discharge connections. Inlet is from suction pump, and discharge is by gravity
feed to the manifold on Trailer #2. 12) Primer Self-priming Pump
The self priming pump will be MP/Jaeger model 6LT or equal with 15 HP motor, 6± inlet
and 6 ± utlet, with a flow rate of 1200 GPM, discharge head of 25ft and NPSH of
23 feet. Material of construction to be cast iron housing with non clog type semi
open impeller and mechanical seal.
